Guidance Updates

The following will take place in the month of October here at the Ambridge Area Senior High School:


College and Career FairFriday October 4th from 7:30am- 11:00am. All students’ grades 9-12 will have a chance to participate in this event.


Penn State Beaver Application Work Shop – Wednesday October 16th 3th 9:30 – 10:02am. Seniors only. The Penn State Beaver representative will be here to discuss the application process for students interested in attending Penn State. In addition the application fee will be waived for students who attend the event.


PSAT/NMSQT – Wednesday October 16th 9:30 – 1:00pm. The AAHS will offer the PSAT to all 11th grade students. The cost of the exam is $17.00, all checks made payable to Ambridge Area School and District and due by Friday October 11th, 2019 to Mrs. Misencik in guidance. Permission slips where mailed home to all junior families.


Financial Aid Parent NightOctober 10th 6:00-8:00pm, high school cafeteria. Gail Grey will be here to discuss the financial aid process and answer any questions regarding the FAFSA application. All parents and guardians welcome.

Technical Trade FairOctober 29th 9:00-11:30, High school Auditorium and gymnasium. Opportunity for students, who are interested in employment, trades and internships directly out of high school.


Beaver County Career and Technology Center Parent Night: Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 6-8 PM: The Beaver County Career and Technology Center partners with Ambridge Area School District in providing training in the trades and certification areas for Ambridge students grade 10-12. If interested in learning more about what the center has to offer, please attend the Open House for parents/students at: BCCTC 145 Poplar Avenue, Monaca, PA 15061.


SAT – Deadline to register for the November SAT at AAHS is October 3rd 2019, student can do so by visiting -> SAT registration


Western Pennsylvania Psychological Services: WPPC Counseling Services are offered via the Positive Steps program for any student interested in counseling services at AAHS. Students may enroll with parent/guardian permission for individual therapy during the course of the school day in the guidance office. The Prevention Network: The School Counseling Department would like to welcome Lisa Polidora, Prevention Specialist to the district. The Prevention Specialist can assist with signing up your student for the Student Assistance Program, Peer relationships, academic stress and monitoring and referring to counseling services for your student. * Scholarship Information:  all scholarship information received through the AAHS Guidance department is posted to the website at the below link. Please be sure to check the website regularly for updates.


**Tutoring Information:  As a reminder, Peer Tutoring provided by NHS is offered every Wednesday in the library from 2:30 – 3:30 PM.  Also, students can arrange to stay after school with their teacher from 2:30 – 3:00 PM for any additional help in each subject area.
