Seniors: We want to see your baby pictures! Please feel free to share any baby pictures, first day of kindergarten or younger school pictures! Please include your name!

Underclassman/Community/Parents/Guardians/Staff: We encourage posters and signs to be held up for the well wishes for our class of 2020 seniors! Any advice, videos and well wishes for this week are encouraged! Alumni welcome to share their first year college experience advice!

One Last Dance: Dress to Impress! Feel free one last time to wear your mistletoe, suit, tux, dress or any formal wear to dress to impress one last time this year and post those glam pictures!



Bridger Gear Shout-Outs: Letterman Jacket? Uniform? Garnett and Gray? Wear your Bridger Gear and feel free to share signs, messages and words of advice or well wishes to your friends, teachers, parents and staff! Parents, community, staff and teachers, let’s see the messages and the signs for all!

Dear Seniors, Parent(s), and Guardian(s),

Communities everywhere are dealing with COVID-19, a rapidly evolving virus that has caused outbreaks nationwide. We realize this has been a difficult time for all involved, especially the seniors. We too are sensitive to the fact that the year concluded with many missed senior opportunities. We, as a District, care very much about our students. Furthermore, listed below are the detailed plans we have prepared for the senior class.

We are excited to share with you the details and expectations for the time leading up to and including the graduation of the senior class of 2020!

Friday, June 5 -Virtual ceremony including the speeches and designation as graduates. The ceremony will be live-streamed on Ambridge’s You Tube channel beginning at 6:00 PM. No graduates or staff will report to the school.

Saturday, June 6- Acknowledgement of seniors and distribution of diplomas will begin at a time to be determined early next week. The scheduled time for each graduate to arrive will be communicated via the student’s school email by June 3, 2020 after all RSVPs are received. The graduate and family should plan to arrive at the old Bottom Dollar parking lot no sooner than 15 minutes before the scheduled arrival time. Each graduate and their immediate family members should arrive in one vehicle. The number of family members should not exceed the amount of allowable seats in the vehicle for safety purposes. Only the graduate will exit the vehicle with a mask and proceed to the bridge until further instruction from Ms. Zupsic to proceed for the diploma distribution and picture. The graduate can take the mask off for a picture. The presentation will be facing the vehicles. Parents can take pictures from inside the vehicle. Only the graduate is permitted to exit the vehicle. The graduate will return to the vehicle after the diploma distribution and exit the parking lot. A senior parade will be held later that evening. Ms. Zupsic will communicate arrival times after all RSVPs are received on June 3, 2020 via school email. Students and families are encouraged to decorate their vehicles for the parade. All attendees must remain in the vehicle for the duration of the parade.  

Friday, July 31 - As previously communicated, the Ambridge Area School District will hold a traditional graduation ceremony (pending the clearance of government restrictions of large gatherings) in Moe Rubenstein Stadium on Friday, July 31, 2020, with a rain date of August 1, 2020. Further communication will be sent in early July so families may prepare for the event.

Each graduate will be given (4) tickets to attend the ceremony. Participation in any of the graduation activities is completely optional. A graduation ceremony is an occasion which carries a personal as well as a familial significance. We look forward to providing a memorable experience for the graduate, parents, family and friends.

When will I receive my diploma?

June 6th, during diploma distribution

Will students be permitted to walk in the July 31st ceremony if they were not eligible to participate in the first ceremony and completed their senior year requirements?

Yes, providing they have met graduation requirements prior to the July 31st date.

Will I be permitted to take pictures of my graduate?

On June 6th, pictures may be taken from inside the vehicle. On July 31st, you will be permitted to take pictures from the stands or other locations, not on the field.

What should I bring to the July 31 ceremony?

As little as possible. An umbrella for sun or rain. Graduates would wear caps and gowns.

How will I receive my tickets for the July 31 ceremony?

Distribution will be set for a window on July 27. Distribution method will be contingent upon the community’s state in regards to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Will I be admitted if I don’t have a face mask?

No, in regard to the June 6th, ceremony. Information in regards to the July 31 ceremony will be determined at a later date.

During the June 6, 2020, ceremony, where will the vehicles enter the Ambridge Area High School parking lot to access the staging area for diploma distribution?

Vehicles will enter the first entrance to the bus circle of Ambridge Area High School if traveling south on Duss Ave. The graduate will get out at the curb in front of the bridge.

Class of 2020:

The Ambridge Area High School Graduate Recognition Ceremony will be staged in the Ambridge Area High School Gymnasium on June 5, 2020 at the regularly scheduled time of graduation.The speeches and designation as graduates will be live-streamed at this time. A parade style distribution of diplomas will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 due to the length of the ceremony and to successfully comply with social distancing requirements. Each graduate will be given a scheduled time at which they should report to the check-in/staging area at the old Bottom Dollar parking lot. No one should arrive more than 15 minutes before their scheduled time. Also, please remember that Ambridge Area High School will attempt to have a traditional graduation ceremony on a later date if restrictions are lifted.

Attendees are limited to the graduate with no more than four (4) guests (not to exceed five (5) total people). The graduate and their guests should arrive at the school in the same vehicle. Everyone must be wearing a mask at all times. No one will be allowed to exit their cars without a mask. No exceptions. Seniors should feel free to decorate their cars to celebrate the occasion.

After the initial check-in, the graduate and their guests will make their way to the school and drive through the bus lane until they arrive at the bridge at the main entrance of the school. Once at the bridge, the student will have their name and post-graduation plans read as they walk and receive their diploma. Guests will not be permitted to exit the car under any circumstances. A photographer will be located on the bridge to take the graduate’s picture. Details on pictures will be provided on a later date.

From here, the graduate and their guests will report to the 911 center parking lot for a parade throughout the community at a time to be determined. All attendees MUST remain in their cars for the duration of the ceremony if they choose to participate in this portion. If wishing to participate in the parade throughout the community all participants must follow the same restrictions as above.

All graduates who wish to attend commencement must RSVP. RSVP instructions will be sent to the Senior Class next week. If you do not RSVP, you will not be given a time slot and thus will not be able to attend. All RSVPs must be received by the end of the day on June 2, 2020. No exceptions. A student’s graduation time will be sent to the email address provided during the week of June 2, 2020.As a reminder, do not arrive more than 15 minutes before your scheduled graduation time.

The ceremony will be live-streamed on the District's YouTube channel, and pictures and videos will be shared throughout the day on social media. On a side note, caps and gowns will be delivered to your home on Thursday, May 14, with the distribution of Senior Signs. We will keep you posted with any updates. AAHS Prom 2019-2020 – tenative june 26, 2020

Grand March:  Due to COVID-19 and social distancing regulations, Grand March will be canceled this year.  
Prom:  5-10:30 PM @ Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108

Pictures:  5:30 – 6:30 PM – Picture forms are also listed on the website (link below).  Please bring an envelope with name and package on the front to the dance, cash or money order to Mark Neel. Ticket Cost:  $30.00 per person / $60.00 per couple

Attendance to the prom (with a junior or senior) is limited to grades 10, 11, and 12.  No guest may be over the age of 20.  All necessary paper work must be submitted in order for guests to attend.


-Tickets will be on sale May 12th – June 1st -Tickets will ONLY be sold online.  

-If bringing a guest from another school or a graduate you must have the following paperwork complete BEFORE purchases a ticket. 

  • A copy of their ID (school or driver’s license) and out of town guest form with contact information, located in the link below.

-Seating for dinner will be selected when ticket purchases are made.    


-Courteous conduct is expected; Ambridge Area students will be held responsible for the conduct of his/her guest.  Use and possession of alcohol or drugs will not be tolerated.  We will abide by the Drug and Alcohol Policy as stated in the student manual.  Vandalism and theft violators will be prosecuted.  In the event the violator is not approached, the prom participants will be assessed for costs resulting from the same. 

-Students who have committed a Level III offense are subject to administration approval and may not attend.  Students who have received more than 5 Level II offenses are subject to administration approval and may attend.

-Students with attendance issues will be in danger of not attending the prom.  This will be at the discretion of the administration.

-The Ambridge Area School District, the prom sponsors, and the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott will not be held responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings. 

-The doors for the prom will open for students from 5:00-5:45 PM.  Names of registered guests will be checked in at the door.  Guests (not from AAHS) will need to show driver’s license/ID card at registration. 

-Parents/Guardians of anyone who has not arrived by 5:45 PM will be notified. 

-No one is permitted to leave the prom before 10:00 PM, Friday, June 26, 2020.  Should an emergency arise, the student(s) involved will be excused, providing their Parents/Guardians have been notified.  In cases of an emergency, notify a faculty member immediately.

We are sorry that your final year of high school is being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the status of some of the events and activities that we are sure you were looking forward is uncertain, we want you to know that we are committed to recognizing you and your accomplishments.

Daniel will attend Davidson College in North Carolina for Biology/Premed where he will also continue his wrestling career as a Wildcat.
