Congratulations to the 2017-2018 Ambridge Area High School National Honor Society Members!
A HUGE congratulations goes out to Mrs. Stacey Brock, a 5th grade teacher at State Street, for being nominated as a 2017 Golden Apple Teacher! Mrs. Brock was nominated by Mr. McKelvey, and she will be attending the Golden Apple Gala at The Prevention Network & Class Academy on May 25th, along with other nominees across the county to determine the Golden Apple Award recipient! Congratulations, Mrs. Brock, and thank you for all that you do for our students! We are lucky to have you with us at State Street!
These AASD students brought immense pride to our district in Oglebay, West Virginia!
They qualified at the county level to attend the NATIONAL ACADEMIC GAMES!
Joshua Guenther 5th grade
Naomi Husted 6th grade
Micah Kwolek 6th grade
They are all State Street students who know how to 'think' and play these higher-level games of intense strategy.
Naomi competed in Linquishtik, Equations, and Current Events. She had to have her game face on to do her best in grammar, math problems, and the latest news from 2016!
Micah and Josh competed in Current Events and Presidents. They could probably tell you what color dresses the First Ladies wore at the Innaugaration!
These students are to be commended for making it this far and competing with 1,000 players from across the nation!
Only the top 15% qualify from the county to play at the national level!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THESE STUDENTS WHO KNOW HOW TO 'PLAY' TO WIN!!!!!!
We are truly proud of your accomplishments!
